Do I need a diagnosis before contacting Autism FIRST?
You can contact us at any stage. Some families begin after receiving a diagnosis, and others reach out while they are still in the evaluation process. We can help you understand what you need to move forward.
Is there a long wait to begin services?
We work hard to offer timely support. Many families are able to begin the intake process right away, and we guide you through each step so you know exactly what to expect.
Which areas do you serve?
Autism FIRST provides clinic-based and home-based services across Virginia. This includes Chantilly, Herndon, Winchester, Manassas, Roanoke, Newport News, Lynchburg, Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Danville. If you are unsure whether your home is in our service area, contact us and we can check for you.
Can you help me understand my insurance coverage?
Yes. Our team can review your insurance information, check your benefits, and explain them in a clear and simple way. We accept many commercial plans and most Medicaid plans.
What happens after I submit the inquiry form?
You will receive a follow-up from our intake team. They will ask a few questions, learn more about your child, and guide you through the beginning of services. We stay with you through the entire process.
Can I contact a clinic directly?
Yes. Each clinic has its own email address, available on our Locations page. You can reach out to a specific site if that is easier for your family.
