FIRST Steps Day Program
The FIRST Steps Day Program gives young children the strong foundation they need during the years when development happens fastest. This full-day program combines structured learning, play-based experiences, communication support, and family collaboration in a warm and predictable environment.
Our goal is to help every child build the skills needed for school readiness, social participation, and greater independence.
How the Program Works
Children receive individualized one-to-one support from trained Behavior Technicians with direct oversight from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Throughout the day, children participate in a blend of one-to-one learning, small group activities, play, and movement.
Program focus areas include:
- Communication and early language
- Social interaction and cooperative play
- Sensory regulation
- Early academic readiness
- Motor development
- Daily living and foundational independence skills
- Emotional regulation and coping skills
- Positive behavior strategies
- Family coaching to support learning at home
Each child’s treatment plan is individualized and regularly reviewed to support meaningful, steady progress across settings.
Hybrid Support: Clinic Based and Home Based
The FIRST Steps Day Program is part of our hybrid model. This means your child can receive consistent support in the clinic and at home, depending on clinical recommendations and your family’s goals.
Hybrid programming helps children generalize skills across different environments, supports families more directly, and promotes continuity across everyday routines such as mornings, mealtimes, and bedtime.
