FIRST Steps Social Skills
The FIRST Steps Social Skills program provides structured group instruction that helps children practice communication, cooperation, emotional understanding, and peer interaction in a supportive setting.
Groups are guided by a BCBA and designed to match children based on age and skill level, ensuring each child learns and participates in ways that feel comfortable, natural, and achievable.
Program Focus
Children practice:
- Conversation and turn taking
- Sharing, cooperation, and group participation
- Friendship building
- Understanding social cues
- Emotional awareness
- Problem solving and conflict resolution
- Flexible responding
- Safety and personal boundaries
Teaching strategies include modeling, guided practice, peer-based learning, positive reinforcement, and naturalistic interactions to help children apply skills in real-world moments.

Elementary Social Skills Group (Grades 1–5)

Middle School Social Skills Group (Grades 6–8)

- Schedule: Tuesdays, 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
- Duration: 12 weeks

- Sibling discount: 10 percent
